PREVENTION
The Dillingham Prevention Coalition is A group that seeks to create capacity in Dillingham for the Primary Prevention of Inter Personal Violence. This includes Sexual Assault, Domestic Violence, and the root causes of these issues. We do this by increasing Protective Factors such as building the 40 assets that there is a mural of downtown. It is our intention to eventually build a regional prevention coalition. If you are interested in becoming part of this group or would like more information you can contact Prevention@safebristolbay.org
In 2023 the Prevention Coalition conducted a Community Perceptions survey. The purpose is to gauge commonly held knowledge and beliefs about interpersonal violence in the community of Dillingham. The results of this research will inform continuing prevention efforts. This work was funded by a grant from the State of Alaska Council on Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault.
These modules have been utilized by the Prevention Coalition Group. They were developed by ANDVSA and show what primary prevention is along with how to practice primary prevention in Alaska through; community mobilization, implementation and evaluation.
